1. How Will You Use the Tractor?

If you need to haul heavy payloads around your property, then your tractor needs to have a high towing capacity.

Finally, you’re going to need to determine your budget for a tractor. You’ll want to set your budget high enough to get the quality of equipment you need without spending beyond your means. Look at your finances and decide what you can afford for a down payment (10 to 20% of the total purchase price, typically) and check online to figure out ballpark prices in the area. Remember that you’ll need to factor in monthly payments on a loan if you opt to use financing, as well as maintenance costs and aftermarket accessories.
